eufy Review: Cheap Cameras, No Fees, but Can You Trust Them?
Anker’s smart-home label sells subscription-free cameras, doorbells, locks, and robot vacuums at sharp prices, and still carries the baggage of a New York settlement over how its video streams were secured.

Verdict, fast
- The Video Doorbell E340 and Smart Lock C210 are the easiest recommendations, with hundreds of on-site reviews averaging well above four stars.
- Local storage and no monthly fees remain the pitch, and on most cameras that promise holds up against Ring and Arlo.
- In January 2025 the companies selling eufy cameras paid New York $450,000 after the state found video streams were not always encrypted as marketed.
- Returns run 30 days from purchase, not delivery, and you pay return shipping unless the item is faulty.
How eufy scored
Good-value hardware with no subscription trap, marked down for a privacy record that took a state settlement to fix and uneven support.

What we'd buy from eufy

Video Doorbell E340 $169.99
Two cameras, one aimed at your face and one at your packages, with no fees.
The E340 is eufy’s most-reviewed doorbell on its own site, with more than 800 ratings averaging close to five stars. A second, downward-facing camera watches the doormat, which solves the porch-thief blind spot most single-lens doorbells share. It runs on battery or existing doorbell wiring, though even wired mode keeps the battery installed. The page lists which chimes it works with and which older eufy chimes it does not, so check that list before you throw out your old setup.
- Best for
- Renters and owners who want package coverage without a subscription
- Weak spot
- Not compatible with older eufy chimes

Smart Lock C210 $99.99
Built-in Wi-Fi, a keypad, and Apple Watch unlocking for under a hundred dollars.
Most budget smart locks need a separate bridge to reach the internet; the C210 does not. It unlocks by app, keypad, physical key, Apple Watch, or voice assistant, and eufy says it fits most standard US deadbolts without drilling. Over 300 on-site reviews average well above four stars. There is no fingerprint reader at this price, and smart locks carry an 18-month warranty here, longer than eufy’s cameras get. The listing mentions an alarm on unusual unlocking attempts.
- Best for
- First smart lock on a standard deadbolt
- Weak spot
- No fingerprint reader at this price

Robot Vacuum Omni C20 $699.99
A full self-emptying, mop-washing dock on a robot slim enough for low furniture.
At 3.35 inches tall, the C20 slides under beds and sofas that block chunkier robots, and its station empties the bin, washes and dries the mop, and refills water. The 7,000 Pa suction figure is modest next to flagship numbers, and eufy adds its own caveat that performance varies by floor type. With more than 250 on-site reviews averaging close to five stars, it is the best-rated eufy robot we found. Robot vacuums get only a 12-month warranty.
- Best for
- Apartments with low-clearance furniture and mostly hard floors
- Weak spot
- Suction trails pricier robots on thick carpet

eufyCam S4 2-Cam Kit $799.99
A 4K fixed lens and a tracking PTZ camera in one solar-powered housing.
Each S4 combines a 4K wide bullet lens with a 2K pan-tilt-zoom pair that locks onto a subject and follows it, and a large solar panel is meant to keep it charged. Paired with HomeBase S380, it gains face recognition and local storage that expands to 16 TB. The catch is in the small print: older HomeBase 2, HomeBase mini, and Professional bases are not supported, and the S380 needs a firmware update before 24/7 recording works. Existing eufy owners may need a new base.
- Best for
- Large yards and driveways where one camera must cover a lot
- Weak spot
- Won’t pair with older HomeBase units

eufyCam C37 $99.99
A solar pan-and-tilt camera that records to microSD with no monthly fee.
The C37 is the cheapest way into eufy’s tracking cameras. It rotates a full 360 degrees, follows people and vehicles, and uses a detachable solar panel so you can aim the camera and the panel separately. Footage goes to a microSD card, sold separately, or to a HomeBase. Again the compatibility notes matter: it works with HomeBase 3 and HomeBase Mini only, not HomeBase 2 or Apple HomeKit. It is new enough that we found no on-site ratings yet.
- Best for
- A single side yard, garage, or back door
- Weak spot
- No HomeKit support and no track record yet
What we'd pass on
Refurbished X10 Pro Omni (50% New)
eufy grades some refurbished robots by condition, and one X10 Pro Omni listing was labeled “Certified, 50% New,” priced only modestly below the “90% New” unit beside it. Half-new is a strange thing to certify on a machine with brushes, pumps, and a dock full of water. If you want a discounted eufy robot, the Omni C20 new is the safer bet.
Robot Vacuum Omni S2
The S2 is eufy’s flagship robot and is priced like one, but its on-site rating was the lowest of the current robot range when we checked, from a few dozen reviews. At this money you are shopping against Roborock and Dreame flagships with longer track records, and eufy covers robot vacuums for only 12 months. We would rather pay less for a better-reviewed model.
eufy versus two rivals
Two brands a shopper is likely to be weighing at the same time. Words only; the numbers change too often to print.
| Row | eufy | Ring | Arlo |
|---|---|---|---|
| Range | Cameras, doorbells, locks, robot vacuums, baby gear, and lawn mowers | Doorbells, cameras, alarms, and lighting, tied to Amazon’s ecosystem | Cameras, doorbells, and floodlights, with a security-only focus |
| Price position | Budget to mid-range, with frequent site-wide sales and coupon codes | Low hardware prices that lean on a paid plan for recordings | Upper mid-range hardware, with a subscription needed for most features |
| Returns | Thirty days from purchase, buyer pays shipping on non-faulty returns | Longer window on direct orders, with free returns on its own store | Short window on direct orders, original packaging expected |
| Standout | Local storage with no monthly fee on most cameras | Deep Alexa integration and professional monitoring options | Strong image quality and a long history in wire-free cameras |

Questions readers ask
Do eufy cameras need a subscription?
Most do not. eufy’s pitch is local storage on a microSD card or HomeBase, with cloud storage as an optional extra. Some features, such as face recognition on the S4, depend on pairing with a specific HomeBase rather than on a plan. Its monitored ExpertSecure system is the exception, since monitoring is a paid service.
Is eufy safe after the encryption controversy?
In January 2025 New York’s attorney general announced a $450,000 settlement with three companies that sell eufy cameras, after finding streams were not always end-to-end encrypted and could be viewed by anyone with the link. The settlement requires encryption in storage and transit and regular security testing. Whether that is enough is your call; we docked trust points for it.
Does eufy’s 30-day return start at delivery?
No. The policy counts 30 days from purchase, so a slow delivery eats into your window. When we checked in October 2026, the returns page still advertised an extended holiday window for the 2025 season, which suggests the page is not updated often. Start any return promptly.
The bottom line
eufy sells some of the best-value smart-home hardware in the US, and the E340 doorbell and C210 lock are easy buys. The case against it is trust: a state settlement over unencrypted streams, a returns clock that starts at purchase, and a support record Trustpilot reviewers split on sharply. If no monthly fees matter most to you, buy with your eyes open and keep firmware current.
